1. never use a big word when a dimunitive alternative will suffice
2. always avoid alliteration
3. prepositions are not words to end sentences with
4. avoid cliches like the plague - they're old hat
5. don't use commas, that, are not, necessary
6. do not use a foreign word when there is an adequate english quid pro quo
7. one should NEVER generalise
8. use youre spell chekker to avoid mispalling and to catch typograhpical errers
9. also poofread carefully to see if you any words out
10. don't use abbreviations, etc
11. parenthetical remarks (however relevant) are unnecessary
12. parenthetical words however should be enclosed in commas
13. contractions aren't necessary
14. who needs rhetorical questions?
15. be more or less specific
