it's christmas day today.
and i'm home alone, becos my family's overseas.
i want some company now! but i think the rest are sleeping.
anw i just woke up not too long ago, and i decided to pen down what happened for the past few days. :)
saved by Your mercy, held by Your grace; totally abandoned to Your embrace
the day before christmas eve...
angela came to my house while i was still sleeping
she brought buns as breakfast for me. how sweet!
prepared worship with angela, and later on found out that no one turned up except min.
so we made use of opportunities like this.
we talked and then prayed.
(:
went to town with angela to get paper for printing christmas cards. lunched at pasta mania; together with angela, dan, elise, yk, daniel and phoebe. walked around town, saw mikhail. he joined us after that, together with anna. got my transparencies at popular then headed back home to finish my task. saw natalina on the bus. she's, pretty! haha. anw, i finished typing my christmas cards at around 1230. literally feeling very happy and accomplished, and hoping to see my efforts being printed onto the transparency. i put the transparency on the paper feeder. ctrl + p, ok. zizizi zazaza goes the printer. the transparency came out from the paper feeder. i held on to the transparency, but all i saw was my palm. of all times, it had to happen now. initially i thought it doesn't work on transparencies. it took me a while before i realised my printer ran out of ink.
messaged clara, then asked if i could use the printer at her house. got there the next day and found out that her printer ran out of ink too. i was left without a choice, so i got an ohp marker from centrepoint, then headed for (friday) service. was late for 45 minutes becos of min's visitors. joy came with mark. but oh well, mark ashley converted. prayerfully, this church will make a 180 degree turn in his life. if God can move the mountains, changing him would be peanuts to God.
Your love is what i need so desperately
stayed over at clara's with june and huiwei. anyway, i spent the whole night chiong-ing christmas cards. had msn-breaks while writing. was talking to hannah before writing, yk and melvin while writing. at least i'm not alone, they're chiong-ing cards as well! june and huiwei were les-ing everywhere, even in the toilet. in a moment of folly, they DID it and produced a lil one. wow! instant pregnancy and giving birth. :D june, as usual, the first one to k.o. they were watching some horror movie before falling asleep on the bed. so the three of them took up the whole bed, leaving me on the floor. but nevermind! i wasn't planning to sleep until i'm done with my cards. huiwei woke up, and the rest got woken up as well. got so sian of writing, i decided to sleep. i was only at my 11th card then. ate cadbury while lying on the bed. it'd be nice if i can have people feeding me strawberry fondue. yummy-licious!
slept in between huiwei and clara. the both of them have disgusting sleeping habits! clara crouches like a shrimp, leaving me to eat her hair. worse still, both of them stretched out their hands, leaving me to smell their armpits. bleagh! i turned to left, i smell huiwei's, left, clara's. i decided to face the ceiling instead.
i had 3hours of beauty sleep before continuing on my christmas cards. milk! and luncheon meat bread. that was what i had for breakfast. (: didn't manage to finish writing the cards. continued writing cards when i got home after service. i think my mum did something to the gas stove. wanted to cook instant noodles, but was restricted due to undesired circumstances.
chiong-ed the cards, and apparently i didn't keep track of time. left the house only at 720. walked to the 196 bus stop, and that bus took so darn long to come. at last it came, at 740. oh well, my butt had the privilege of resting on the comfort of the sbs bus for 1hour. for the first time, i was the last person to reach. i felt so bad for keeping the rest waiting. :( oh, i felt so brave then. i'm like so filled with sense of direction! i made my way to ecp myself, and i walked through that alley! probably becos i know that i'm not walking alone. yay! im growing in my faith. haha.
we walk in fields of grace
AOC event was a blast! the games were kinda cool, though i was stoning half the time. hee. i liked the candycane game very much! it's so cute okay! i literally imagined candycanes, mistletoes, snowmen, reindeers, and turkeys walking around. i was super slack. we were supposed to run away, but i was walking 7/8 of the time. :D i think everyone wanted to die, so that their sufferings could be ended. the pain the pegs caused were intolerable. it's so tight i can't even smile, plus my face has limited space. i had FOUR pegs sticking out of my face. gah! i don't want a saggy face! jiehui's hilarious. you must see how he threw the frisbee. it never reaches the person; becos it always return to him like a boomerang. lol. jane's so cheater! she blew away the lighted candles at our base. jiehui and daniel kept coming to our base. haha irritating la! then they held the candles so high, joanne and xiangyu were jumping and blowing like some crazy chicken.
anw, i really enjoyed myself. (: it's not much of the games though, but the fellowship. it doesn't really matter if the idea is re-used, it's the people! you can have a mega fun game, but if the people are not game about it, what's the point? i feel really blessed to be part of this family, really. words alone aren't enough to express how much i love this family. even though it was storming, raining king kongs, and the wind blew so hard it could blow elise away, everyone remained so sweet-spirited. i really felt so loved when everyone cuddled together, and offered to provide warmth for each other. a pity we didn't had a camera. i'd really love to take the picture down and show it to the rest of the world. i am just so proud of everyone! even in the darkest storms, we know that we'll always have each other to lean on. <3
fell asleep in the bus home with jarvin. gave breakfast and lunch a miss. did some laundry, bathed, then read all the christmas cards. im really really encouraged by all the cards. wah, i almost cried while reading some of them. wanna take this time to do some shout-outs. (make it, MANY) i shall go by alphabetical order. please tell those people below to read them!
ANGELA!
'...a bet that I took you to be my disciple?', '...i'vee not wasted time investing in you.' that was some things you wrote which encouraged me a lot. your card almost brought me to tears. it really got me thinking about my past 2½ years in Hope. how much sheep-bites i gave, and how much we went through together, yet you never gave up on me. instead, you planted a green bean in my heart. wanna let you know that the bean that you planted has grown. it has become a bean sprout, not any ordinary one that dies in 3 days, but one that will never stop growing. thanks for believing in me. :)
DAN!
'you may be small, but u can be a chilli padi! small & spicy!' that was exactly what you wrote. i think this is by far the best christmas card you've ever wrote to me. the others were filled with criticism! lol. yea, thanks, i really appreciate working with you as well. thanks so much for your encouragement! i'm, honoured!
ELISE!
im really very encouraged by your words, really. thanks for offering the sweater at ecp. i'm sorry for making it black! i feel really bad. :(
GRACE!
i think your card is really really sweet! becos on the envelope you wrote, 'sinyee beautiful'. haha, encouragements from the first word to the last. yea, i will do my best to keep them. think you've been doing a great job so far. no matter what happens at home/everywhere, always know that i'll be there. :) love you!
HANNAH!
'i will never leave you nor forsake you' declares the Lord. haha, yes! i will never leave you, don't you leave me too cos i will cry! i will one less retarded friend. :( next year will be VERY tough. it seems peanut to many, but it’s a great challenge for me. im seriously not smart. im quite stupid actually. it takes me quite some time to grasp certain concepts for biology. but well, i don have to be the best to glorify God. i just have to give my best. God blesses those who put Him first. :) thanks for the short sharing at xbox!
JARVIN!
thank you for offering to get me packed lunch/dinner. it's very much appreciated! haha, okay i will ask you to shut up if there’s a need to. everyone pokes fun of my height, so i'm already immune to it. thanks for being so encouraging as well. your life has definitely inspired me. :)
JOANNEANG!
though silly all the time, i really wanna affirm you for your others-before-self spirit. :) thanks for offering everyone warmth! please don't do that again, you almost freeze to death. we wouldn't want to lose you becos of that.
LEON!
your handwriting is seriously illegible. i took really long to figure out the words. haha. oh well, thanks for making the effort anyway. :)
MELVIN!
'sorry not my best handwriting, machine not functioning properly.' hello! thanks for making effort to write my card. yea, sometimes i feel like killing you. thanks for being hilarious as well. haha! you and your cold jokes.
MIKHAIL!
haha i didn't know i appeared tomboyish to you last time. i think i was tomboyish, in my primary school days, and probably in secondary one. people do change, but my heart will always remain burning for God. and no! when i call you 'retarded', i actually meant, 'hilarious'. haha thanks for all the laughter you've brought to the group. I'm glad to know that you had fun. :)
SAMUEL!
your card is very lengthy! haha, but i really enjoyed reading it. i finally get to receive a card from you after 2 years. haha. i think i've said all that i want to in the card. thanks for the encouragement! :)
VIENNE!
i am so amazed by your desire in wanting to be a shepherd. thanks for the soft toy! God will definitely let your desire come to pass. :) i'm sorry for not spending time with you. i really hope that in this coming year, we will have a breakthrough in this area. love you!
(i feel bad for not writing to some people! i'm sorry. :( anyhow, thanks for the cards! i'll write to you next year. hee!)
woke up at 630, and i typed all the above. it's 11pm now and i haven't had anything for the day. i feel like ordering pizza, or mcdelivery. i'm too lazy to go down to buy food. :( i've to think of 3 games to play for metamorphosis. meeting up with idonknowwho to brainstorm on them on monday morning.
there's a light in the darkness that shines; giving hope to all the land
